Are all of your storage sheds available for rent-to-own?

All of the standard sheds are available for rent-to-own. There are situations in which a customized storage shed can require paying cash. Also, if a customer wants to modify the construction of their storage shed or paint it, then it must be a cash purchase. Typically, though, you can add a wide variety of available options, such as six windows, or three doors. The type and size of storage shed is a factor. We will happily consider every request on an individual basis. Call our sales number or contact your local dealer for additional information.

Can storage sheds be customized beyond the standard options that are offered?

As a general rule, most of our customization takes the form of our standard options. However, if you have a request that cannot be addressed with our available options, we encourage you to call us with your requirements. We can discuss the request with our builders and see if the modification is feasible and cost effective as a custom order.

Can I choose siding or roofing colors besides the colors offered in your brochures?

Check with your local dealer to see if these options are provided in your areas. We prefer that customers choose from our stock colors, however, if a sale depends on our ability to supply a custom paint scheme, you can choose the colors by providing your own paint and shipping it to our manufacturer’s facility. The color choice (name and chip #) needs to be noted on the special instructions section of the custom order. If you have specific requests relating to roofing shingles, please contact us.

Why is the lead time two to three weeks?

The three-week lead time allows us to construct the storage shed, apply caulking and paint with adequate drying time, apply roofing shingles and work around any weather concerns that may affect the safe delivery of the finished product.

Can Weather King construct a storage shed on site?

No. all of our storage sheds are delivered fully assembled to our customer’s site. By building our products in a manufacturing environment, we are able to better control our costs and deliver a very high quality, durable storage shed at an affordable price.

What type of foundation is required?

A reasonably flat (as opposed to level) area is required – we will level the storage shed to the existing terrain. The storage shed does not need any additional foundation work such as gravel or concrete. We can certainly place the storage shed on these foundations, however, they are not required for installation.

Do the storage sheds need to be anchored?

The storage sheds need to be anchored in certain locales where severe weather accompanied by high winds is common. There are some select municipalities outside those areas that may also require anchors. You should consult your local codes for specific requirements in your area. Weather King and it’s agents are not responsible for anchoring of the storage sheds but will supply the customer with the anchoring plans to do so.

How much vertical clearance does the installer need to get the gooseneck trailer and the storage shed onto my property?

The trailers are approximately 30 inches in height. The storage sheds range in height from the short wall utility sheds (102 inches) to the lofted barn with 3 inches of optional, additional height (139 inches). Depending on the model the customer chooses, the installer would need a minimum clearance of between 11.5 feet to 15 feet.

How much side to side clearance does the installer need to move the storage shed onto my property?

There must be at least one foot of side clearance during transport, and the storage shed must be at least three feet from any other structures or the property line. In other words, if you choose a 10 foot wide storage shed, we will require 12 feet of clearance to get it to the site and 16 feet of clearance in order to place the storage shed on the ground.

Can a storage shed be installed in an area where it is not possible for the truck and trailer combination to get close to the site?

Yes, with advance notice, the installer can unload the storage shed from the trailer and maneuver it onto the site with some specialized equipment. The installer will discuss your specific needs when the delivery is scheduled.

What is included in the installation?

The installation includes placing and leveling the storage shed on site. We do not remove obstacles or provide ground leveling services. The storage sheds are leveled to the terrain with treated wood blocks (ground contact rated). If you prefer, you can supply 4″ x 8″ x 16″ solid concrete blocks (1 block for every 4 perimeter feet) to use in place of the treated wood blocks. These must be on site at the time of the installation. Drivers may charge extra for extremely difficult deliveries.

What is the delivery charge for a Weather King storage shed?

One free delivery attempt is included in the price of the storage shed, within a 50 highway mile radius of the nearest store (by road, not as the crow flies). If the distance to your site is greater than 50 miles, there is a $3.00 per mile one way charge that is payable when the storage shed is purchased.

Can a storage shed be moved once it has been installed?

Yes.

Cost will be determined on a case by case basis.

Do you build or supply ramps for your storage sheds?

We do not furnish ramps because it is not possible to produce or stock a universal ramp that will meet all situations. Some storage sheds will be blocked 3 or 4 feet above the ground, while others will be only inches. Changes in slope from one side to the other can also be difficult to address. We feel that is best for you, the customer, to make your own determination after the storage shed is set up.

Why is my 12′ wide storage shed only about 11’6″ wall to wall?

We are limited by hauling regulations in some areas as to the actual width of the storage shed. The current regulation is 12′. For this reason, 12′ wide storage sheds are measured from eave to eave. Our 8′ and 10′ wide storage sheds are measured from wall to wall. In some areas, 12′ wide storage sheds can be built to be 12′ wide on the floor measurements. Please contact your local dealer or Weather King to assist in the further answering of this question.

What kinds of maintenance will be required on my storage shed?

No maintenance is required. We do recommend that you apply a stain to your treated storage shed somewhere between 6 months and 1 year of receiving it.
